Parking Charges Up By 2p

19 January 2007

From 1 February 2007, there will be an increase in parking charges. The cost of a parking unit will increase by 2p to 52p. The cost of a season ticket valid in any long stay car park will be £88, increased from £85 and the cost of a half permit, valid for every car park where one unit is charged for every two hours, will be £44.

The rise in charges takes account of inflation since the last increase, which was in February last year. Previously purchased paycards are still valid and can continue to be used.

The income raised from parking charges supports the operational costs, maintenance and investment in the future provision of public parking.
