Repairs underway to Georgetown traffic lights

17 September 2007

Transport and Technical Services are in the process of repairing the traffic lights at the Georgetown junction which have not been working since Saturday morning. However, the fault is a difficult one and will possibly take another two or three days to put right. Temporary lights will be in place until the repairs have been made.

“It is very unusual for repairs to traffic lights to take so long,” said John Richardson , Chief Officer of Transport and Technical Services. “The Georgetown junction is a very busy one and although temporary lights are in place, there is still likely to be traffic delays. The engineer is doing his best to put the lights back into service as quickly as possible.”
