12 November 2008

John Whitley, the Bank of England agent for Central Southern England was in Jersey on Tuesday 11 November to meet with local politicians and businessmen.

He attended a breakfast session at the Pomme d'or Hotel attended by local business representatives during which the economic outlook in the United Kingdom and economic conditions in Jersey were discussed.

At a lunch time session at the Radisson SAS Waterfront Hotel, similar subjects were discussed with an audience that included Ministers, Senators and local business representatives.

Mr Whitley also met with representatives from Jersey's larger business organisations, on a one to one basis, throughout the day.
