Emergency Planning Exercise for La Collette

28 November 2008

Businesses in and around La Collette will learn how to deal with a terrorist attack during a simulated exercise to be hosted by the States of Jersey Emergency Planning Officer and the States of Jersey Police Counter Terrorism Security Officer on Tuesday 2 December.

Using Project Argus, a framework developed by the UK National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO), they will explore ways in which organisations can prevent, handle and recover from a major incident. This will involve taking participants from businesses located at La Collette through a simulated exercise.

The event explores what is likely to happen in the event of a terrorist attack, options to consider and how to decide what the priorities should be. Project Argus highlights the importance of being prepared and having the necessary plans in place to help safeguard an organisation’s staff, customers and company assets.

The skills learnt at this event are also transferable to other emergency situations, such as a fire or gas leak.
