Income Tax law consultation

24 July 2008

The Minister for Treasury and Resources, Senator Terry Le Sueur, has launched a consultation on how non finance, non Jersey owned companies will contribute to Jersey tax revenues.  The purpose of the consultation is to understand how revenue could be collected from these companies under the new zero/ten corporate tax structure, due to come into force in 2009.  The Minister is interested in hearing the public’s opinions on applying a deemed rental charge on these companies.

Current estimations suggest that £4 - £6 million could be collected in tax should a deemed rent be applied to non finance, non Jersey owned companies.

The consultation period is from Thursday 24 July to Friday 12 September.
