Road Closed to allow improvement work to Faldouet Pumping Station

07 May 2008

The road between St Saviour’s Hospital and Queen’s Valley Reservoir will be closed from 12 May for four weeks to allow the Faldouet Sewage Pumping System to be upgraded.

More storage capacity is required at the pumping Station as there are now more newly constructed properties in the area. As the current storage facility within the site is at its maximum. Transport and Technical Services (TTS) will have to construct additional storage within La Route de la Hougue Bie by increasing the size of the sewer pipes.

Although these works require the road to be closed to all through traffic, arrangements will be made to allow buses to go through at their scheduled times. Diversions will be posted.

TTS has appointed local contractor, Geomarine Limited to undertake these works. Where inconvenience is inevitable, residents, the travelling public and businesses will be provided with clear information in advance of the work. Advertisements and signs identifying the extent of the works and diversions will be posted leading up to the works.
