Temporary Closure of Walkway at La Collette

30 January 2009

Part of the walkway between Green Street and La Rue du Veulle (La Collette) will be closed for three weeks from 31 January due to construction works on the site development road for the new Energy from Waste Plant.

The section to be closed is the stretch from La Rue du Veulle through the public car park, along the La Collette access road, under the pipe-bridge and along the southern boundary of the JEC Power Station. Pedestrians and cyclists can still gain access to the area by going along the promenade from Green Street and then along the footpath on the eastern boundary of the JEC Power Station or alternatively via Mount Bingham.

The walkway is being closed temporarily to allow work to be done on the access road to the site for the new Energy from Waste Plant. Although the walkway will remain closed throughout, work will stop in the early evenings.

Transport and Technical Services and their contractors will make every effort to minimise the disruption and noise and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
