Free parking on Bank Holiday Monday

Transport and Technical Services wants to remind the public that paycards will not be required on Bank Holiday Monday, 28 December 2009. The Minister for Transport and Technical Services said “My department has liaised with the Town Centre manager and it would seem that many shops will open on the Monday after Christmas. I just wanted to ensure that the public remembered that they do not need to use scratchcards on that day as parking will be free.”

However, Boxing Day, 26 December 2009, was not designated by the States as a Bank Holiday and is, therefore, a normal Saturday and paycards will need to be displayed.
