March 2010 Business Tendency Survey report

In March 2010 more businesses reported a decline rather than an increase in business activity over the previous 3 months.

The Jersey Business Tendency Survey (BTS) is a quarterly survey which provides qualitative information about the Island’s economy in a timely manner.

The survey covers private sector businesses in Jersey. The survey asks the chief executive or managing director of sampled businesses for their opinions on the current situation of their business compared to 3 months previously and also for their expectations for the next 3 months.

The survey enables a set of indicators to be produced that can be used to monitor economic performance.
