The Channel Island Christmas lottery top prize could be higher than last year if ticket sales continue at the current pace.
More than 1.5 million lottery tickets have already been issued to Channel Island agents and the current first prize already stands at £400,000.
Last year, the first prize reached £651,000. If ticket sales continue to rise, this year’s value could be higher still.
Assistant Minister for Economic Development, Connétable Len Norman, who has specific responsibility for the Channel Island lottery, said “The Christmas draw is once again proving very popular with Islanders. Not only will it make someone’s Christmas very special but lottery profits also go towards the Association of Jersey Charities which benefit a great deal of people living in Jersey.”
The draw takes place in just over 5 weeks time on Thursday 16 December.
