Parents asked to give feedback on their experience

20 September 2010

The Early Years and Childcare Partnership (EYCP) is asking parents who have recently had a baby in Jersey to provide details of their experience during the prenatal and postnatal period, up to 8 weeks after the birth of their child.

A questionnaire will be available on the EYCP website from Wednesday 22 September 2010.

The survey is aimed at anyone who has had a baby in Jersey in the past year, and the group wants to hear about support groups and any other services used during this period. Contact will be made with relevant community groups to make parents aware of the questionnaire.

The EYCP is made up of 6 working groups and this questionnaire will help towards the production of a quality framework for children from the prenatal to pre-school period.

The Chair of the EYCP, Nicky Road, who is in the Island this week, is appealing to the public for their help. She said "understanding a child's experience is essential to our work, and obtaining the views of parents at this stage is invaluable."

Those who do not have internet access can complete the questionnaire online at the Bridge or the Jersey Library.
