Icelandic volcano disruption: update

21 April 2010

Airlines flying to and from Jersey are hopeful schedules could return to normal by Thursday (22 April) afternoon if flying conditions remain unchanged.

All UK airports were given permission to open, as from 10pm last night (Tuesday 20 April 2010). As a result, it is hoped a number of air services to the UK and Europe will resume today (Wednesday 21 April).

Passengers are advised to check Jersey Airport's website as well as with their airline for the latest updates. If flights are scheduled to operate, passengers should check-in as usual.

Jersey Airport will continue to monitor the situation and remains in close contact with its airline partners and ground handlers. The airport may consider extending its opening hours to help with any backlog of passengers and freight.

Anyone who is due to travel over the next 48 hours is being advised to contact their airline.

Passengers on inter-island flights should check-in as normal.

All facilities at Jersey Airport, including retail and catering outlets are now open.

Updates will be posted on the Jersey Airport website.
