Latest retail sales figures released

Jersey's latest retail sales figures have been released by the Statistics Unit.

The Retail Sales Survey for quarter 4 (Q4) 2011 shows that:

  • the seasonally adjusted total volume of retail sales in Jersey in Q4 2011 was 6% lower than in the corresponding quarter of 2010
  • this represents the second consecutive quarter in which the total volume of retail sales has declined on an annual basis
  • the predominantly food and non-food sectors have each recorded 2 consecutive quarters of a fall in the volume of retail sales on an annual basis
