Student art exhibition at airport

03 October 2012

Jersey Airport is continuing to celebrate its 75th anniversary with an exhibition of artworks contributed by students from 12 local schools. The collection is drawn from the responses from students of all ages to an Island-wide 'design an advert' competition that was held in Jersey's schools earlier this year.

On display in the arrivals terminal until 26 October 2012, the exhibition comprises more than 50 works of art depicting a variety of scenes, ranging from holidaying in Jersey in the 1930s to the Jersey Airport of the future. All types of materials have been used, from traditional paints and crayons to computer-generated images.

Group Marketing Manager for Ports of Jersey, Alan Donald, said "This is a real community exhibition and we are delighted to be able to put these artworks on public display as part of our anniversary. There are great examples where the children have really caught the essence of what Jersey Airport offers."
