Trinity Road remains closed

25 November 2013

Trinity Road will remain closed until the end of the week as work continues to repair the road.

While the road is closed motorists can use the following diversions:
  • northbound traffic via Langley Avenue
  • southbound traffic via Rue a la Dame.
The bus diversions are as follows:
  • Route 4 is diverted up St Saviour's Hill, to Five Oaks roundabout, then down Rue a la Dame, through Grands Vaux, Town Mills and before continuing on the normal route.
  • Route 20 will omit Langley Park and Grands Vaux until Robin Hood is clear.
  • Route 21 will travel up St Saviours Hill, up to Five Oaks roundabout, then down Rue a la Dame, Fernlands and continuing on its normal route. The return journey will go up Langley Avenue.

The only service travelling through Town Mills is the route 4 and buses are not travelling down Langley Avenue, only up the hill.

Transport and Technical Services engineers think that the work will take at least five days.

TTS, Jersey Water, Jayen, Barrette Plant Hire, Jersey Gas, Jersey Telecom and Ronez have worked throughout the weekend on the large hole which appeared in Trinity Road near the Robin Hood junction. The contractor has to excavate loose material and reinstate around the pipes and ducts of the utility companies, up to road level. So far, a 10m length of road has been repaired to surface level and another 15 metres needs to be repaired before the carriageway can be resurfaced.
