The latest report shows that:
- on 31 March 2013, both the seasonally adjusted and non-seasonally adjusted number of people registered as actively seeking work (ASW) in Jersey were at the highest levels recorded to date
- on a seasonally adjusted basis, the total number of people registered as actively seeking work was 100 higher than a month earlier (February 2013); 80 higher than the average for the preceding three months
- the non-seasonally adjusted ASW total was 2,050. This latest monthly total is 20 higher than a month earlier (February 2013), 240 higher than that of a year earlier (March 2012) and almost double that of four years ago, in March 2009
- long-term unemployment (registered for more than 52 weeks) now accounts for more than a sixth of total ASW and was at the highest level recorded to date
- 290 teenagers aged 16-19 years were registered as ASW. 110 teenagers were on the Advance to Work scheme
