Jersey Airport security measures

03 July 2014

Jersey Airport has undertaken to follow any UK requirements for increased security.

The UK has stepped up some of its aviation security measures at airports with from US warning of a credible terrorist threat.

The Department for Transport, which keeps aviation security under constant review in conjunction with international partners and the aviation industry, has said that some aviation security measures will be stepped up. The UK department will not comment on the details of those changes, but is reassuring passengers that the safety and security of the public continues remains paramount.

Jersey’s Ports Security Manager, Ruth Thomas, said “Jersey Airport follows the UK on aviation security requirements and, in line with the UK, has some of the most robust aviation security measures already in place."

Passengers are also being reminded to ensure that they leave sufficient time for their journey through Jersey Airport.
