The Taxes Office helpdesk will be closed for two days on Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 April so improvements can be made to the customer area.
A new ticket queueing system is being installed as well as new seating. It means taxpayers will no longer have to stand to wait for their turn. Instead they can take a ticket and sit down to wait.
During the two-day closure, Islanders can still contact the Taxes Office by phone or email.
Comptroller of Taxes, Richard Summersgill, said “The Taxes Office helpdesk currently sees about 600 people each week. These improvements will mean that people won’t have to stand while they wait to see an advisor. The new queue management system will also help us gather more information about why islanders call at the helpdesk which will help us to improve our services.”
“Our long-term aim is to make more information available on gov.je to support online filing and assessment which we are still on track to deliver in two years’ time.”
The Taxes Office can be contacted on (01534) 440300 or by email email@example.com.
