Healthcare professionals encouraged to apply for vaccination programme roles

07 December 2020

The Government of Jersey is asking for healthcare professionals who are registered, practiced, or retired from health work, to help deliver the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Government are looking to recruit Vaccinators, Health Care Assistants/Support Workers, and Clinical Supervisors for fixed term and zero-hour contracts to help deliver the vaccine program in the new year.

Anyone who has recently retired or practiced within the last three years within the following roles are being asked to get in contact with the Vaccination Hub.

• Nurses
• Doctors
• Dentists
• Midwives
• Pharmacists
• GPs
• Public health officers
• Paramedics
• Physios
• Opticians
• Orthoptists
• Chiropodist
• Radiographers
• Other allied health professionals
• Care and support workers

Health care professionals applying for all roles must have a current DBS certificate, and once in post, will receive full training.
Following an agreement between the Government of Jersey and the UK Government, Jersey will begin to vaccinate Islanders, in order of priority groups, as set out by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI).

The Minister for Health and Social Services, Deputy Richard Renouf said: “We are urging current or retired healthcare professionals to come forward and help deliver the crucial COVID-19 vaccination programme.

“This programme will not divert resource from the General Hospital as we have widened our net to seek out those in health and care work who do not have other commitments elsewhere.

"Our medical professionals have worked tirelessly since the first COVID-19 case was found in Jersey and I understand that this vaccination programme will ask more of them. I hope that, like me, they will understand how vital this programme is to our COVID-19 response and come forward to be part of this historical moment in healthcare.”

Further details and applications on these roles can be found here or down below. People can also apply by emailing OneGovWorkforceResponse@gov.je.
