Funerals at Crematorium now live-streamed

​The Jersey Crematorium will be offering free-of-charge live streaming of funerals for those who are unable to attend due to COVID-19 regulations.

The live streaming of funerals was trialled earlier this year in the summer and was proven to be a success with many families giving positive feedback.

As new COVID-19 regulations come into effect from today, the number of attendees allowed at funerals have decreased from 80 people to 40.

The online service will be available to those who are unable to attend and will also be beneficial to those who are shielding, vulnerable, or cannot travel into the Island.

Superintendent Registrar Claire Follain said: “We understand that attending a funeral at this time may not be possible for some people due to their own personal circumstances or due to restrictions on numbers of attendees. 

“By providing a free live streaming service, friends and family members both locally and off-island can join a ceremony in a virtual and safe way.”
