Household health survey

09 April 2020

Islanders are invited to complete a new household health survey.

The survey has been developed to establish a picture of the health of Islanders in relation to COVID-19, as well as gathering information about their travel history and vulnerability. This is to complement on-Island COVID-19 testing.

The survey, which is available in English, Polish and Portuguese, provides an Island-wide snapshot of peoples’ self-reported circumstances. All Islanders are asked to complete the form, including those who are well and healthy. The survey does not tell people if they have COVID-19, and it does not interfere with existing arrangements for people to get medical help where they need it.

The results of the survey will be used to understand how the virus is spreading and inform the Island’s public health strategy.

The survey performs the same function as the many available ‘COVID apps’, but ensures Islanders’ data is securely held in a way that can inform and respond to future phases of the pandemic in Jersey.

The Minister for Health and Social Services, Deputy Richard Renouf, said: “Since January 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has spread quickly around the world. The results of this survey are critical in understanding the progression of COVID-19 in Jersey.

"Together with our Island-wide testing programme, it will help us to understand where and when coronavirus is spreading to inform our future decisions. We invite all Islanders to complete this form, whether they’re unwell or feeling well and healthy, ideally within the next two weeks.”

Anyone without internet access can complete the form by calling the coronavirus helpline on 445566. The form can also be updated if a respondent's health changes in the coming weeks.

This survey closed on 27 May 2020
