Markets mark Valentine's Day

10 February 2020

This week, loved-up couples, secret admirers, and would-be Romeos can take advantage of extended opening hours at the Central Market and Fish Market to pick up a last-minute Valentine’s Day treat for a loved one.

On Thursday 13 February, the Central Market will remain open until 5.30pm, rather than closing at 2pm as usual.

Simone Glendewar, Markets Manager, said: “Many people use Valentine’s Day as an excuse to treat their loved one to a beautiful bunch of flowers, a selection of chocolates, a hand-crafted cake, a bottle of a bubbly, a special gift, or the final ingredient for a romantic meal.

“This means that February 13 is one of the busiest days for some of our traders. That’s why we’ve worked closely with our tenants to agree extended opening hours for this special occasion.”
