Draft guidance for businesses preparing to reopen

10 June 2020

corona update

The Government of Jersey has published draft guidance for businesses to prepare to operate safely during Level 2 of the Safe Exit Framework.

The draft guidelines have been provided in advance, so businesses can provide the Government with feedback and have time to prepare for a safe reopening.

Draft guidelines for businesses to prepare for Level 2

The Chief Minister, Senator John Le Fondré, said: “We are providing draft guidance for businesses, before we move to Level 2, to help businesses in their preparations for reopening. This guidance is subject to final Public Health sign off, and it is not live until then. While we remain in Level 3, the existing Level 3 guidance continues to apply.

“As with previous levels of our Safe Exit Strategy, we may not bring in every Level 2 measure on Day One. We are moving through a phased exit that aims to keep Islanders safe while also opening sectors of our economy when we are advised that it is safe to do so.

“I am grateful to all the industry representatives that have fed into the development of this guidance, through a series of workshops and conversations, in the short period of time that was available. I would also like to thank all those who have been abiding by the rules during this difficult time.”

The Government remains committed to:

  • widespread testing, contact tracing, and case isolation
  • good respiratory and hand hygiene
  • robust border control, with arrivals tested and/or quarantined, in line with the latest medical advice
  • physical distancing, in line with the latest medical advice
