Our Stars Jersey Public Service Awards 2021

11 November 2021

Employees from across Government have been honoured at an awards ceremony. The evening of celebration took place at the Royal Jersey Showground and saw 11 awards presented in a variety of categories.

In the months leading up to the awards, colleagues made 426 nominations for outstanding individuals and teams from all departments and at all levels. A panel of judges chose the finalists and winner for the main ten categories.

The winner of the final award of the night, the Superstar Award, was chosen from all nominations by the Chief Minister and Interim Chief Executive. Each award was presented by a member of the States Employment Board.

The night included a drinks reception, food and entertainment, with five sponsors – EY, JT, TDP Jersey, Marbral Advisory and ROK FCC Joint Venture – covering the drinks, food and entertainment.

During the evening the Interim Chief Executive, Paul Martin, said: “What makes these awards so special is that every single colleague had a chance to nominate – and I was delighted to hear that you made a record-breaking 426 nominations this year, the highest number ever.

“While not everyone will get an award tonight, everyone who was nominated has already won the esteem of their colleagues, and should rightly feel proud of that.”

Also speaking at the event, Chief Minister, Senator John Le Fondré, said: “On behalf of the States Employment Board, and the Council of Ministers, I’d like to thank everyone here tonight – the finalists, the nominators, the nominees, the judges, and all those responsible for putting this brilliant event together.”
