A new headteacher for Jersey College Prep. School has been appointed.
Catherine Precious will take over in September from the current head, Richard Sugden who will be retiring at the end of this school year. Catherine has extensive school leadership experience, including several headships, working in both the UK and internationally.
Retiring Headteacher, Richard Sugden, said: "It has been a genuine honour to be the Headteacher of Jersey College Prep. and to lead such a dedicated team, who work tirelessly to mould and shape children's futures.
"I wish Catherine all the very best for the future and would like to thank all of the team at JCP, students, and parents and carers for all their support through the years. I leave with the fondest of memories."
New Headteacher, Catherine Precious, said: "I am delighted to be appointed as the Headteacher of Jersey College Preparatory School. I very much look forward to getting to know the school and working with staff, pupils, and the whole Jersey College community as we enter an exciting new phase together."
Chair of Governors, Louise Read, said: "On behalf of the whole college community I would like to thank Richard for all his hard work and dedication, particularly leading Jersey College Prep through the challenges posed by the pandemic and wish him a happy retirement.
"I am pleased to be able to welcome Catherine to the College. Catherine brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience, and I look forward to working with her in the months ahead."
