Final week of Export Strategy Consultation

06 September 2022

The public consultation and business survey to help shape the development of the Government of Jersey’s Export Strategy close at the end of this week.

The public consultation has been open for Islanders to share their thoughts and experiences on exporting from Jersey since 11 May, when the Export Strategy Green Paper was published. The consultation covers broad questions on the opportunities and barriers across different focus areas, including data and logistics.

The business survey seeks more detailed information on the current and future scale of exports from Jersey, and asks businesses which areas they believe the Government should focus on helping to improve. Current exporters and businesses which could potentially export in future are strongly encouraged to respond.

Both the public consultation and the business survey close at midnight on Sunday 11 September. The results will be included within the Export Strategy which will be published by the end of 2022.

The Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture, Deputy Kirsten Morel, said: “Increasing the value of our exports is a key way to grow our economy and can help businesses unlock greater economies of scale to improve productivity.

“Despite our long and famous history exporting goods and services to the world, this will be the first time Jersey has had a dedicated export strategy. With the consultation deadline on Sunday, this is the final week for Islanders and businesses to help shape the strategy and I encourage anyone with an interest to take part.”
