School and college leavers, graduates, and Islanders who are looking for a new career direction can
attend the ‘Where Do I Start?’ Careers Fair today, Tuesday 13 June, at the Radisson Hotel.
The event, which will take place between 1pm and 6pm, is free to attend, and there is no need to
At the event, attendees can speak with local employers and apply for roles they are interested in,
including work experience, internships, graduate schemes, trainee programs and job opportunities.
Employers from a range of industries will attend the event, including care, construction, digital,
finance, education, hospitality and travel organisations.
The Careers Fair has been organised by Skills Jersey in collaboration with the Jersey Employer
Group, an independent body which brings together representatives from all industries to help
ensure that the Island's workforce is prepared for the jobs of the future.
It follows the launch of a Skills Jersey careers guidance podcast which launched in January. The
podcast – which features Skills Jersey Careers Guidance team in conversation with a range of Island
professionals - has been downloaded over 250 times.
Minister for Children and Education, Deputy Inna Gardiner, said: “I’d like to thank the Skills Jersey
team for their all their work in organising this event. They have always worked closely to support
Islanders of all ages to find the right career path for them.
“But the success of the podcast, and their close work with the Jersey Employer Group, means that
Islanders of all ages will benefit from more information, more knowledge, and more opportunities.”

absolutely vital for our economy that Islanders have awareness of, and access to, a range of career
opportunities on Island. I’d like to thank the Jersey Employer Group for their engagement in this
event and I hope that everyone who attends finds it a useful guide to getting their careers

advice and guidance the whole way through their career. This event is open to Islanders of all ages,
and we hope it will create an opportunity for the sort of face-to-face conversations with employers
that can help people find the right next step for them.
