A dispute between the Association of Educational Psychologists, AEP, and the Government of
Jersey has now been resolved.
The Association issued a notice in October 2024 citing unresolved concerns over workload,
capacity, and service quality.
The Association and the Government of Jersey have worked closely and constructively to
address the concerns raised, ensuring that all actions were taken in line with the best interests
of children and young people.
In a joint statement, the Association and the Minister for Education and Lifelong Learning said:
“We appreciate the commitment and collaboration shown by all parties throughout this
process and look forward to continuing our shared focus on delivering positive outcomes for
children and young people using our services.”
AEP General Secretary, Donna Wiggett, stated: ‘We welcome the resolution of this dispute and
are pleased that, through open and constructive discussions, we’ve reached a positive
outcome. This agreement represents an important step forward in rebuilding a strong working
relationship, ensuring the best for AEP members and the children and young people they
support."
