The Government’s Disability and Inclusion Team has published its 2023-24 Annual Report, highlighting progress made towards creating a more inclusive Island and setting out priorities for the years ahead.
Launched in May 2017, the Disability Strategy aims to improve the wellbeing of Islanders with disabilities and tackle the inequalities they face. This year’s report showcases the results of collaboration across government, schools, businesses, and the wider community, from improved accessible parking and enhanced digital services, to expanded opportunities in education and employment.
The report also celebrates the continued success of Embrace Our Difference, Jersey’s flagship inclusion campaign. In 2023, the initiative brought together over 500 Islanders, and in 2024, more than 55 organisations were represented, making it a key event in the Island’s inclusion calendar. The next Embrace Our Difference event will take place in December 2025, with full details to be shared closer to the time.
Minister for Social Security, Deputy Lyndsay Feltham said “The report highlights the progress we’ve made in embedding accessibility, showing lived experience, and strengthening inclusive practices across Government and the community. To everyone who has contributed, whether through policy, practice, or personal experience, thank you.”
