High tides along with large waves and strong winds will lead to waves and debris coming over
sea walls this evening (Friday) and again tomorrow (Saturday) morning.
Jersey Met have issued an Orange Tide Warning for this evening’s high tide at 6.35pm, we are
expecting disruption along Jersey’s south and east coast with seawater and debris on roads,
and some flooding may occur.
A Red Tide Warning has been issued for Saturday morning’s high tide at 6.54am, once again we
are expecting disruption with large waves potentially coming over sea walls along Jersey’s
south, east and west coasts, with the potential for some coastal roads to be closed.
Senior Forecaster, John Searson said: “Care should be taken for the period around an hour or
so before, and after the high tides, avoiding coastal areas where seawater and debris will be
coming over sea walls. We are expecting disruption both this evening and again tomorrow
morning”.
Islanders are advised:
- seawater and debris on roads, and some flooding may occur
- travel disruption is likely with potential for some coastal roads to be closed
- please take extra care and allow more time for journeys
