Following yesterday’s briefing with Blue Islands employees, the Government of Jersey is continuing to prioritise direct, practical support for those affected. The session, which was held at Union Street and included representatives of Loganair, focused on the immediate steps people can take, the financial protections available to them, and the employment and training help on offer.
Members from the Employment, Social Security & Housing department outlined how employees can access Insolvency Benefit, which ensures workers receive outstanding wages and certain other employment-related payments. They were guided through the process and offered one-to-one support from trained advisers.
The team also explained how individuals can protect their Social Security contributions during this period and access tailored help from the Back to Work service – including CV support, interview preparation, job-search assistance and training opportunities.
Employees were also provided with information about Income Support and how to check whether they may be eligible for financial assistance while they transition into new employment.
Anyone who attended the session, or who was unable to attend, can speak directly with a trained adviser for personalised support and advice. The Government will continue to work closely with affected employees to ensure they receive clear guidance, financial protection and practical help during this difficult period.
