The Health and Safety Inspectorate, HSI, is inviting workers across Jersey to have their
say on a proposed new draft “Management of Health and Safety at Work: Approved
Code of Practice, ACoP)."
The draft ACoP brings together expert advice from Jersey and the UK to explain clearly
what is needed to manage risks and prevent injury or illness at work. It’s all about
making sure everyone knows how to work safely and understand what the Health and
Safety at Work (Jersey) Law 1989 requires them to do. Whatever business you are in your opinion matters, and the HSI wants your feedback on
the draft ACOP.
HSI would like your views on whether:
- the ACoP is applicable to your business sector or workplace
- the level of detailed guidance provided is appropriate
- there are any areas not covered in the draft ACoP which should be included.
Here is a link to the ACoP: Management of Health and Safety at Work: Approved Code of Practice.
There’s a simple questionnaire to help you share your thoughts, but you can respond
however you like:

The consultation closes on 30 September 2025. You can submit your comments by

said: “This ACoP will apply to every workplace and work activity in Jersey. Its aim is to
assist everyone with duties under Jersey’s Health & Safety Law to understand what they
need to do to keep workers and the public safe. We want to make the ACoP as effective
as possible, and we’d appreciate comments from a range of dutyholders to inform the
drafting and next steps.”
