Back to School Bonus applications are now open

​Following the Government of Jersey’s announcement in April, applications for the Back to School Bonus are now open.  

The bonus is available to families with children in Reception to Year 11 attending school in Jersey and with a combined income of up to £75,000 in 2025. Families claiming Income Support will receive the payment automati​cally. 

To support Islanders with the cost of living pressures, the bonus will help with the cost of preparing children for the new school year in September 2026. Eligible families will receive £100 for each primary school child and £150 for each secondary school child. The payment is intended to help families with expenses such as uniforms, shoes, stationery and other back to school essentials. 

Key dates: 

  • applications open: Monday 15 June 2026 
  • applications close: Friday 31 July 2026 

Payments will be made as a single lump sum in August, ahead of the new school term.
