Essential refurbishment and upgrade works to Springfield Stadium will begin this summer.
Planned works are designed to extend the life of the building by a further 30 years, a critical investment towards maintaining the ongoing operation of the Island's stadium.
The grandstand is almost 30 years old and features an exposed structure comprised of steelwork and reinforced concrete terraces. Recent condition reports and a detailed inspection have confirmed the need for these works to preserve the future of the facility.
Planned phase 1 works (Summer 2026):
- Replacement of side panel glazing
- Stripping and repainting of structural steelwork
- Upgrades to emergency lighting
- Localised roof repairs
Impact on services
Grandstand seating and the pitch will be closed for the duration of the project.
We have been working with the Jersey Bulls and the Jersey Football Association and discussions are ongoing to manage the impact on fixtures and activities.
The café, gym, nursery and clinical services may experience some disruption in relation to reduced parking and access. However, they are all expected to remain open throughout the works.
We will continue to engage with stakeholders and the public to minimise disruption.
