Green zone (policy C5)

The concept of the green zone is a well established part of the Island’s planning system. The designation reflects those parts of the Island which have a largely intact landscape character and an important range of environmental features needing a high level of protection from development.

Green zone sites

A number of sites have been rezoned from being within the built-up area to the green zone in order to afford them a higher level of protection. The Island proposals map and the town proposals map will be amended accordingly to identify the new policy regime applicable to these sites.

All of the sites below are shown on maps (map numbers are identified in brackets). All maps are available from Planning and Building Services.

The following sites have been designated as ‘green zone’ by the States on 05 July 2002:

  • field 108A, Rue du Pontlietaut (Pontorson Lane), St Clement (map 23, dated 31 March 2005)
  • the property known as Roches D’Ouvres and other garden areas and escarpment land, Chemin du Guet, Rozel, Trinity (map 24/1, dated 13 April 2005)
  • the area of land in St Clement bound on its northern side by the dwelling ‘Jambart House’, on the eastern side by Rue de Jambart and on its southern and western sides by field 198A (map 33, dated 7 July 2005)
  • the area of land in St Clement bound on its eastern side by Rue de Jambart and on its northern side by the dwelling ‘Jambart Farm’ (map 34, dated 7 July 2005)

  • field 621, Route de Noirmont, St Brelade (map 35, dated 7 July 2005)

Built-up areas
