The Community Risk Register provides an overview of the potential risks in Jersey which could result in a major incident.
Key risks fall broadly into the categories of:
natural events
human diseases
animal diseases
major accidents
By bringing together emergency planners from different organisations, the Community Risk Register aims to prioritise, plan and respond to these risks should they occur.
After identifying the potential risks, the document details who will be responsible for responding to the event, what procedures are in place and how high the risk actually is.
Take a look at the Community Risks: What you can do information booklet as it provides all the necessary information to help Islanders prepare in an emergency, including tips on how to prevent the spread of pandemic influenza, what to do in a flood and how to cope during a heatwave.
The Community Risk Register will also assist in identifying emerging issues and those where the risk or threat is increasing or decreasing.
