Completing land transaction tax forms

Buying a share transfer property and transfer of ownership

You need two copies of the completed land transaction tax (LTT) transfer of ownership form.

Download transfer of ownership form (size 68kb)

  1. enter the name, registered office and the registration number of the company from which the shares are being transferred or issued
  2. enter the full name and address of the purchaser of the shares or the person to whom the shares are being transferred
  3. enter the full address (including postcode) of the property that the shares are for
  4. select the type of transaction
  5. enter the value of the property and the amount of land transaction tax due. The LTT calculator will help you calculate the charge. Use the link below
  6. sign and date, with your contact details in case of a query
  7. deliver both copies to the treasury cashiers at Cyril Le Marquand House. One copy will be kept for our records, the other copy will be stamped and returned with an official receipt for you to pass to the company secretary​​​​​

Taking out a loan secured against your share transfer property

You need two copies of the completed land transaction tax security interest form.

  1. enter the name, registered office and the registration number of the company from which the shares are being transferred or issued
  2. enter the full name and address of the lender
  3. enter the full name of the purchaser of the shares, or the person to whom the shares are being transferred
  4. enter the full address (including postcode) of the property that the loan is for
  5. select the type of transaction
  6. enter the amount of the loan on which land transaction tax is due and the total LTT payable. The LTT calculator will help you calculate the charge. Use the link below
  7. sign and date, with your contact details in case of a query
  8. deliver both copies to the treasury cashiers at Cyril Le Marquand House. One copy will be kept for our records, the other copy will be stamped and returned with an official receipt for you to pass to the company secretary

Calculating your land transaction tax

Re-financing 

If you are re-financing, we only require the difference between the new loan and the old loan if an additional sum has been borrowed (the amount chargeable to LTT).

Foreign currency transactions 

If the transaction has taken place in a foreign currency, you must provide evidence of the rate of exchange on the day of transaction.
