The Government of Jersey is working closely with the Indian High Commission to resolve the issue that some Islanders are experiencing when applying for Indian e-visas.
HM Passport Office is also aware of the issues and will continue to support the work of the relevant UK and Indian authorities to help resolve this matter as quickly as possible.
How to apply
Allow as much time as possible for your application. Don't apply for an e-visa or through a third-party supplier on your behalf.
To apply for an Indian visa:
- go to
Indian Visa Online application website
- fill in the details on the form:
- for Indian Mission/Office select UK-London
- select United Kingdom or British (not Jersey) for relevant items
- for Citizenship/ID select UK
- once the form is completed, make the payment online by debit card and print out your application. The payment must cover the full visa fee including service fee and courier fee
- courier or post your application to the visa office in Hounslow, London with your passport and 2 passport photos attached
- the visa office will then courier the passport and visa back to you once it's approved. Incomplete applications will be returned without processing
