About the project
Following a public consultation held in March 2019, Growth, Housing and Environment is starting work in Bagatelle Lane to improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists under the Safer Routes to schools initiative.
The work is starting on Monday 8 June and is scheduled to take 5 weeks to complete.
These improvements consist of:
- creation of a virtual footpath along the entire length of the lane, with bollard protection
- kerb buildouts at junctions
- one way for northbound traffic (from Bagatelle Road to Wellington Road)
- reduction in speed limit from 30 to 20 miles per hour
