About the project
To improve safety for children and adults travelling to school, we’ll put a new signal controlled pedestrian crossing on Bagatelle Road at its junction with Les Varines.
The project will be delivered in phases:
- most disruptive construction activities will take place in spring and summer half term holidays
- minor less intrusive works will take place during school term time, outside of peak travel hours
This section of road was highlighted through public feedback as a priority location for safer pedestrian access. Particularly for those walking to nearby schools and to bus services that begin and end in the Jersey College for Girls bus park.
The project is part of the Bagatelle Safer Routes to School programme.

Access
Pedestrian and vehicle access to businesses and premises will be maintained where possible during the works.
Residents within the working areas will be contacted by our Contractor if any temporary restrictions on access are needed.
Buses
Existing bus services will be maintained passed the works.
Bus stop Bon Air Lane (3243) southbound will be suspended during periods of traffic restrictions.
Bus users are advised to use southbound bus stop Bagatelle Lane S (2498) to the south of the site during the works.
