Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant

The Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Assistant is responsible for supporting the kitchen team by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation, while assisting with basic food preparation. This role is essential to ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly, safely, and efficiently at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Wash dishes, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment promptly

Keep all kitchen areas clean, tidy, and well organised

Assist chefs with basic food preparation such as washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients

Help with receiving, unpacking, and storing deliveries correctly

Support the kitchen team during service by ensuring a steady supply of clean equipment

Dispose of waste properly and maintain clean waste areas

Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health and safety procedures

Report any faults, hazards and maintenance
