The Commissioners of Appeal are the first point of
appeal for taxpayers – both individuals or businesses – who wish to dispute decisions and rulings made by the Comptroller of Taxes.
The Commissioners are paid a modest honorarium for every hearing at which they sit. Up to 12 Commissioners may hold office at any time with three Commissioners sitting together at any one hearing. Approximately 6 to 8 hearings are held each year.
For this appointments exercise, the Minister for Treasury and Resources proposes to appoint Commissioners for up to three years.
