The Government of Jersey has 2 places available on the programme for 2026.
To apply, you must:
- be a citizen or resident of Jersey, France or the UK
- have meaningful links to Jersey
- have exceptional professional achievements and leadership experience
- have a clear vision of how your involvement will enhance the Franco-British ties beyond the programme
- have good conversational English (sessions are conducted in English)
- accept the Franco-British Young Leaders Charter

About Young Leaders
The Young Leaders Programme is a prestigious initiative bringing together leaders from France, Jersey and the UK to strengthen Franco-British collaboration.
It aims to:
- deepen mutual understanding
- foster lasting relationships across our nations
- develop a new generation of leaders dedicated to shaping the future of bilateral ties across all sectors of society and the economy
As a Young Leader, you’ll take part in seminars and cultural exchanges over 12 months to:
- expand your professional network
- explore shared opportunities
- contribute to the growth of Franco-British relations
The programme was launched in 2017 and now includes 176 people from distinguished careers across a diversity of sectors including:
- politics and journalism
- science and education
- the military
- business and entrepreneurship
- the arts
In 2025, the Franco-British Council and the Government of Jersey announced a 5-year partnership. This includes 2 annual places on the Franco-British Young Leaders Programme for young professionals with connections to Jersey. Find out more on the new 5-year partnership for

The programme is delivered by the Franco-British Council with the support of:
- the French Foreign Ministry
- the British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office
- a number of private sponsors
