Changes to traffic arrangements on La Rue a Georges and La Rue du Couvent

The Minister for Infrastructure, in pursuance of Article 68 of the Road Traffic (Jersey) Law 1956, as amended, and after consultation with the Connétables of St Mary and St Peter, gives notice of the following changes to the traffic arrangements on La Rue a Georges and La Rue du Couvent. These changes will take effect from Monday 11 December 2023.

Part 2 - Traffic Circulation

Introduced to the articles of the order:

Article 5 (b) Closing of roads to certain vehicles

No vehicle specified in the first column of Schedule 3 Part 3 shall be driven on a road specified in relation to that vehicle in the second column of that Schedule.

Introduced to the schedule of the order:

Schedule 1 - One way traffic route

• add a new entry in the first column “La Rue a Georges” and in the second column “from the junction with La Rue du Couvent west bound to the junction with La Cheve Rue”

Schedule 3 - Part 3

• add a new part for Closing of roads to certain vehicles in accordance with the new Article 5 (b)
• introduce to first column “A vehicle the overall width of which exceeds 6 feet 6 inches” and in the second column “La Rue du Couvent from the parish boundary to the junction with La Rue es Boeufs”

Introduced to the schedule of the order:

Schedule 3A

Vehicles which may not use certain roads

• introduce to first column “A vehicle the overall width of which exceeds 6 feet 6 inches” and in the second column “La Rue du Couvent from its junction with La Rue Bechervaise to the parish boundary”
