Annual Returns - Notice to owners of land, houses, buildings and other structures
In accordance with Article 3(1) of the law, notices have been served requiring each owner of land in each Parish to make a return containing particulars of all land, houses, buildings and other structures owned at 1 January 2018 for the purpose of this law. Any owner who has not received a notice and Return should contact the Connétable immediately.
By virtue of this Notice each owner shall be taken to have been served with a notice and it shall not be an excuse for non-compliance for an owner to show that a notice was not served on him.
Any person who fails without reasonable cause to make a Return within the 15 days allowed, or by 15 January 2018 whichever is the later, is guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding £1,000. A person charged with this offence may be dealt with at a Parish Hall enquiry and may accept a fine not exceeding £200.
In accordance with Article 12 of the law, notice of the transfer of land must be given to the Connétable within seven days of the date of the transfer.
In accordance with Article 13 of the law, an owner or occupier of property on 1 January 2018 who changes his/her name and/or address must give notice to the Connétable within seven days of that change.
