Please advise of the reported Road Accidents involving a Motorised vehicle the numbers and ages of drivers in the following age brackets ...

1. 17 years to 25 years
2. 25 years to 40 years
3. 41 years to 65 years
4. 66 years to 70 years
5. 71 years to 80 years
6. Over 80 years

Of these statistics/numbers please advise in the over 70 years how many were to blame for the road traffic accident?

The below figures show the age groups of those involved in road traffic collisions (RTCs) in Jersey in the last five years. It does not represent the number of RTCs as often more than one vehicle is involved. For RTC figures, please refer to the States of Jersey Police annual reports.

From the above figures, records for 2016 were individually examined and of the 32 drivers who were over the age of 70, 20 were prosecuted for offences of driving without due care and attention and in one case, causing injury while driving without due care and attention. Most cases were dealt with at parish halls.

The above figures can be further examined against the number of drivers licences held in each of the age categories. Driver and Vehicle Standards have provided the below figures.
