Request

How many licensed taxi drivers have informed Driver and Vehicle Standards (DVS) that they  hold a disabled drivers blue badge?

B

How many licensed taxi drivers claim long term incapacity benefit?

Response

A

The Scheduled Public Authority has determined that this information is exempt as it exceeds the cost limit provisions under Article 16 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011.

It is estimated that it would take in excess of 12.5 hours to collect the information as a review would have to be undertaken of every taxi driver's records.

B

The Scheduled Public Authority has determined that this information is exempt as it exceeds the cost limit provisions under Article 16 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011.

It is estimated that it would take in excess of 12.5 hours to provide a definitive list with sufficient identifiers for the Social Security Department to check their data.  However, the Social Security Department has confirmed that the Long Term Incapacity Benefit (LTIA) is an 'in work' benefit payable for loss of faculty, not for inability to work.

Exemption

Article 16:  A scheduled public authority may refuse to supply information if cost excessive

(1) A scheduled public authority that has been requested to supply information may refuse to supply the information if it estimates that the cost of doing so would exceed any fee of an amount determined in the manner prescribed by Regulations for the purposes of Article 15.
