How many gritting vehicles are there in Jersey?
As of 13 January 2017 the States operated 697 road registered vehicles (grouped as requested where possible):
|Trucks (including tippers)||97|
|Refuse compaction vehicles||3|
In addition the States have 13 pedal cycles.
This relates to all fuel provided from the designated pumps and does not relate to any ad-hoc fuel that may have been purchased from a petrol station or the cost of charging electric vehicles as it is estimated it would take in excess of 12.5 hours to calculate this figure.
The States does not specifically have gritting vehicles. However, there are currently six salt spreader units in the States fleet. Four are truck mounted and two are tractor mounted.
