I would like to know how many individuals were turned away from Jersey's ports and airports during 2016.

I would also like to know for what reason these people were turned away.

Lastly I would to know how many individuals attempted to claim asylum at Jersey's ports and airports in 2016.

Response

17 foreign nationals were refused leave to enter Jersey at the ports / airport in 2016.

B

15 were refused for failing to meet the requirements of the Jersey Immigration Rules and two were refused because they were travelling on forged or counterfeit identity documents.

C

One asylum claim was made at Jersey’s ports / airport in 2016.
