I would like to know how many individuals were turned away from Jersey's ports and airports during 2016.

I would also like to know for what reason these people were turned away.

Lastly I would to know how many individuals attempted to claim asylum at Jersey's ports and airports in 2016.

17 foreign nationals were refused leave to enter Jersey at the ports / airport in 2016.

15 were refused for failing to meet the requirements of the Jersey Immigration Rules and two were refused because they were travelling on forged or counterfeit identity documents.

One asylum claim was made at Jersey’s ports / airport in 2016.
