Can you tell me the total value and quantity of retail products bought online and imported into Jersey during 2016 that were below the GST threshold and the total value and quantity that were above the GST threshold?

Response

This data, as requested, is not available. Daily there are approximately 5000 freight consignments and 10,000 letter packets and parcels. It is not possible to tell if the goods contained therein have been ordered online or otherwise. Records of the value or quantity of those consignments under £240 are not held.

The vast majority of consignments over £240 are delivered directly to approved traders and the GST is collected at the (on-island) point-of-sale by the Taxes Office.

The Taxes Office do not hold GST information as requested.
